Land Plots
This article will detail the mechanics of our land plots, the utility associated with owning a land plot, and future use-cases.
Our vision for The Island metaverse is to become the social epicenter of the Harmony network.
This means people from all parts of the network, and potentially holders of other NFT collections can interact on The Island. Users will be able to chat, play games, host events, and socialize in a multiplayer setting.
Simply put, the introduction of land plots is important for the progression of the game for these key reasons:
- Land Plot Customization
- Access to Exclusive Content
- Land Plot Resource Token Production
The following information will detail the specifics of plot utility:
With each unique land plot, owners will be able to visit and customize their plot however they please. Use resources tokens to craft decorative items to display alongside your other NFTs; your land plot can be made uniquely yours in a variety of ways. Additionally, other players will be able to visit your plot and check out your customized home.
This feature will be available in the future, and will likely be the final feature to the developed for the land plots (The Typhoon Tycoon needs time to develop those plots 😉).
Owners of land plots will be able to access exclusive content, both in-game and on-chain.
Additionally, owners of land plots will be first recipients for future airdrops, as well as priority for any future product releases.
The primary feature in the early game for cave plots will be their production types. Each land plot will passively produce resources (tokens) based on its resource production type(s). The number of production types will depend on the land plot's production level. These tokens will then be used to craft the in-game NFTs. More details can be seen in the Production Slots and Resource Token Production sections.
A cave plot's rarity will be determined by three different categories:
- 1.Cave Plot Type
- 2.Production Level
- 3.Resource Token Production
The minting algorithm will begin each cave plot mint by choosing the cave plot type. Each land plot type will have an associated probability to be minted.
Each cave plot type will have unique in-game design and art. The cave plot type will also determine the potential resources it can produce (refer to Resource Token Production).
There will be 5 different cave plot types available to be minted, starting from the entrance of the cantastic caverns, all the way to the furthest depths of the cave, where mysteries lie...
The Entrance: 40%

The Mouth: 25%

The Cenote: 20%

The Pillars: 10%

The Hole: 5%

The next step in the minting algorithm is to determine the the number of production slots a cave plot has. The number of production slots will determine the number of resources a cave plot will produce every day. Each slot can produce a different resource type.
Production Slot(s) | Rarity | Total Tokens Per Day |
---|---|---|
1 | 30% | 100 |
2 | 45% | 200 |
3 | 20% | 300 |
4 | 5% | 400 |
Once the minting algorithm decides on both the cave plot type and production level, it will then determine a resource token production for each production slot (Refer to the Production Slots section)
This is where things might get a little complicated. The availability and rarity of certain production types will be tied to the cave plot type determined in the first step of the minting process (as explained in the Cave Plot Type section). Each production slot will produce 100 resource tokens of that type per day.
The tables below will map the rarity of all production types, along with their price in $CAN (For more information on our tokenomics, visit the In-Game Economy page), based on the cave plot Type:
Resource | Rarity | $CAN per day per 100 Tokens |
---|---|---|

Once a Resource Production Type is determined for each Production Slot, you will be given your minted NFT.
Land plots will be crucial to experiencing all aspects of The Island.
There will be features, such as breeding, that will be exclusive to land plot owners. You will also be able to visit your land plot, as well as host other players on your plot.
Land plots will also produce resource tokens, crucial to creating any of the in-game NFTs. In-game NFTs will have multiple use cases. More on this soon
😉
The land plot release will be occurring in the next couple of weeks. Details on the 5 minting phases can be found on the Whitelist Scrolls page.
Cave plots will be one-of-a-kind, they will be the only plots to produce the resources available in the cantastic caverns (Notice in our concept art its shaped like a toucan head?)
So, to recap:
Land plot use-cases:
- Visitable, you can host events and invite other players over
- Will be required to access certain in-game and on-chain mechanics
- Will passively produce resources that will be central to the in-game economy
